I know you're worried about the meat b/c it IS a shame to let a deer go to waste when unsure of the shot. On the other hand, its a sick feeling pushing a deer farther away and not ever finding it when it otherwise might have died if you'd had waited.

AND leaving her sit over night might not be needed. A few hours may be plenty.

I know its too late, as you've already left, but I am going to go against what most everyone on here is saying and wait until morning. From the looks of the fletchings, it doesn't appear to be a lung or hear shot. You'd be better off waiting too long and, than not long enough.

I wouldn't. I have left many bears lay overnight when temps are in the upper 50's to low 60's. If its going to be in the low 50's tonight, the meat and the deer will be just fine in the morning.

Congrats and hope there's a happy ending for you! :)

Is this a good thing or a bad thing that we have not heard anything back yet? He could be dragging and gutting or he could be still looking, the suspence is killing me.

No doe (yet) here is what I am seeing. I backed out. She is circling. Looks like some of the blood is fresh yet. I definally didn't hit her too low because there is blood at 3' high.

    Thoughts?

    Dont' forget about recovery dogs.

The United Blood Trackers lists 11 trackers in WI. There has to be one close by. She is going to die, it's up to you to exhaust every effort in finding her. Let me know if I can put you and a tracker together.

I waited 20 min before I got down. And then I snuck out. All of these pics are within 50 yards of where I shot her.

Dang that is some crazy blood, my doe last year only had drops and it went only went seventy yards on a high lung liver shot. But i heard her drop and had plenty of help to find her.

    Jeff,

I hate to say it but because of how fresh that blood looked I think I may have jumped her. :( That is why I got the hell out of there. Keep in mind she made a loop. Right now I am thinking about waiting till morning.

Here is a tracker about 34 minutes away, and there are 5 or so within 2 hours of you.

I'll PM you the name, address and phone.
