Drive back to the spot and look again. It will not hurt 90 minutes later to go check 20 yards or so more from where you last saw blood....if the blood trails starts slowing down big time, then back out.

How did the deer react to the shot, did she donkey kick or did she kinda drop her hind end and scrunch her belly?

Broadside, quartering away? What sounds do you remember from the shot? What was her reaction? How high were you in the tree?

Yep, thats what i'd do, but if the blood trail looks like those pics most likely its 3rd and long time to punt! Dead Deer!

Good advice. I would even go as far as 50 yds. If it was a good hit you'll no within 50 yds. You will likely even find her. If it was a bad hit you'll still likely know within 50 yds.

Just remember to walk slowly and not make a ton of noise. Be quiet. If she is bedded down due to a single lung hit or what not, you do not want to jump her.

Exact broadside. I don't have the best hearing but it I can't remember any sound. It is only 10 yards away so it happened sooooo fast. I was 16' high.

If anything she donkey kicked. She did not scrunch. But to be honest it was hard to tell again because the arrow was there in no time. By the time I refocused on her from out side my bow sight she was already trotting away.

So if the blood continues to be heavy it probably is a good hit and I should continue?

I'll ask again. Do you guys think the meat will be good come morning?

The point they're trying to make is if she hauled-ass out of there....then its more than likely a good hit. If she ran a short ways and then stopped/hunched up or started walking...I'd be a little worried about going back out there so soon.

I think she was trotting...... Guys, i am really sorry this whole thing is such a blurrr. My Adrenalin was really pumping. I apologize. I glabed my binocs and it did look like she stood there at the distance for a sec and possible fell over but it was tough to tell.

You are wasting precious time. Go slip down the blood trail like 50 yds or so and decide, from what you see. You can not make another decision on the computer.

No need to apologize, you did the smartest thing by coming here and asking for advice. If I were in your situation, I would wait a full 3 hours after the hit and head back. The meat won't go bad in that amount of time and it will insure that if it wasn't a terrible hit she should be dead. Slowly look over the trail and proceed as you see fit.
