Well, it has been an interesting season for me this year. I had 15 shot opportunities at deer this season and finally took the 15th one. The bow season ended for me last night because I won't be able to hunt late season. For the last three weeks the bucks I had been seeing kept getting smaller and smaller. WTF, my cameras were showing some nice bucks but mostly at night. I did have a nice one roaming my land while I was hunting but we never crossed paths ( see my thread "Playing tag"). I gave myself until last Monday night to hold out for one of the nicer bucks and after that it was one for the freezer. The woman of the house kept demanding that I stop "screwing around" and get some meat. Tue..... no deer sightings. Wed ... nothing all day. Oh man! On the last evening of my last hunt (last half hour) this guy comes in. He's at the processer right now!

Although I try to hold out for decent bucks, the wife and I really enjoy venison. If I was down to my last moments, I'd have taken him too. I couldnt imagine a winter with no venison in the freezer. Nice Work!

He will look odd in the middle of your wall of fame though ;)

I love shooting deer no matter what size they are. Congrats Greg! This the first one you've taken off your own land?

Heck, he is about the same size as my biggest bow buck ever. No shame there. It is a good feeling to have one in the freezer. Congrats!
