Tonight around 6:00 PM, had 3 does come out of the bedding area, cross the creek and go onto the neighbors' property. Right after them, a buck crossed the fence from the neighbors' and start down the trail towards me. He stopped at 30 yards out while still in the timber and made a scrape. Then he closed the distance to the shooting lane. At 25 feet out he stopped and raised his head to lick a branch. Our eyes locked onto each other and he stomped. I released at about the same time his hoof hit the ground. The arrow entered right behind the shoulder blade on a 40 - 45 degree downward angle. He turned and ran with the arrow still sticking out of him. He disappeared into the woods 50 yards south of me. After 15 minutes of shaking, I got out of the tree and returned home. I spoke with some of my BHC homies and decided to wait until morning to go after him. Praying the Good Lord sees fit to allow me to recover in the AM. Now all I have to do is try and get some sleep (yeah, right).

11 pointer with good mass and huge body. I'm guessing this buck is pushing 300 lbs.

Good luck tomorrow bud!! Keep me posted.

Sounds like the exact same shot I had one my doe the other night. She made it about 45 yds and only took 11 seconds to expire.
    Congrats on your Buck IV!!!

Well, I got 5 hours sleep and it's 2:50 AM. Now just waiting for that 8:00 AM sunrise. I've run the hunt, shot and bucks departure through my head over and over again looking for something to give me hope because I know how my luck usually goes. Gonna be a long 5 hours to sunrise.

You all set the clocks back last night Mark? If so it will be a 7:00 sunrise. Didn't you buy some property? If so is this on it?
Good luck, sounds like a lethal hit.
