Well he looks like he'll be decent anyway. I went out for a bite to eat this evening and when I turned down the street towards the house I noticed a deer on the hill in a small clearing across the street. On second look I realized it was a buck. I watched as he started across the street towards the neighborhood up the road. I pulled into the driveway and grabbed the camera. I went back out and realized he was eating apples in the back of someone's yard... He thought he could hide in the apple tree and I wouldn't see him... Then he decided he was going to try and head back to the woods across the field in front of the high school... But he had second thoughts... After a brief stare down he decided to head the other way... Which led him right in front of me... And around the corner.... To the woods on the edge of my buddy's yard... I sent my buddy a text telling him I just chased a nice buck toward his yard. He sent me a response that he was by his garage... I have to admit, when he was staring me down my hands got a little shaky. Apparently you get buck fever even with a camera.
I love to see bucks in the early season with velvet. It's always a good show seeing what they'll turn into. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk www.skyangler.com
nice pictures. he will be good in a couple years. the rush of him blowing by you had to be a good feeling.
Nice buck. I wish I could see a buck in one of the farmers field on the property that they let me hunt!
Just saw the buck under the apple tree right before it started raining about thirty minutes ago. I grabbed the camera and snapped a few pictures. Our encounter was similar to the first round. I got back to the house to check out the pictures...my wife didn't put the card back in the camera after she put some pictures on the laptop the other day. Hopefully I can catch him out there again and get some more pictures before this fall.
