Drove to town today hoping to shoot a Bear Assault at the local dealer. He just got one in this morning but didn't have it set up yet as he said they are selling like hot cakes and he can't keep them on the rack. I didn't have time for him to set it up but did pull it back. Very nice for a single cam compared to my Bear Instinct. The let down was a lot better then the Instinct. So we are shooting the breeze and he hands me the Attack that is set up and the only one left in the store. They been going out the door fast too. He is a very happy camper needless to say. I had the wife along as she has very, very good hearing compared to mine. Took a shot and asked what she heard. She said she only heard the arrow hit the target. No other noise. Took a couple more shoots and got the same reply from her. I wasn't hearing anything other the arrow hitting the targer. The dealer was saying I told you so. We both were grinning like mad men and the wife didn't seem to impressed with us and rolled her eyes. LOL The bow was dead in my hand after the shot. I didn't feel a thing. No vibration... nothing. Lordy does that thing sling an arrow fast !! It might not be a bowtec, hoyt, diamond, Matthews or any of the real popular bows but it is a very nice bow. I haven't shot any of the other bows and won't just so you know. I like Bear and never had a problem with them so I am biased big time !! So take this for what it is worth... pretty much nothing. LOL He assured me the Assault shoots the same as the Attack. Well a little slower in the arrow slinging department. Plenty fast for me though. I did like the feel of the Assault better. I wished he would have had both setup so I could see for myself how they compared to each other shooting wise. Maybe next time as I am just in the looking stage. Tim
The local archery shop around here sells allot of bears as well. I asked him last year what his 2 best sellers were. His response was bowtech and bear followed closely by Hoyt. Best of luck In convincing the wife Tim!!
The Assualt looks to be the best offering from Bear in many years IMO. I've owned several Bears and liked all of them.
doesnt need to be a big name brand Tim, long as you liked the way it felt and it performed above your expectations. Sounds like a nice bow.
Troy took the words right out of my mouth! Good for you Tim... can't wait to see pics of your new baby once you decide!
The local shop in my town sells bear, diamond, bowtech, and hoyt...He says he sells more bears than any other brand.....I'm looking for a new bow and a bear just might be a good path to go down.
