I shot a buck and a doe in September and have been holding out for another good buck so I have not shoot anything since then. But my wife called me up this morning at work and said we are running out of meat which is a big deal at our house because we do not eat beef so I left work early jumped in my stand and by the end of the day I killed my target 5 year plus big doe and a nice medium size doe with the bow!I also watched them both drop!

Congrats, If a buck and a doe only lasted your family from September until now, you better hit the woods and put one more down!

Congrats man on a great afternoon. Like Vito said, that fawn will be some good eats. Curious how you know how old the doe is. I always wonder how people age does.

You age it the same way as a buck... by the teeth. This is how all the biologists do it in my state.

Congratulations! Meat in the frezzer is a beautiful thing.

I definitely dont have an answer for that then. A lot of the old timers say the best way to age a doe is to see how big their ears are compared to their head. It definitely helps doing this but obviously its not the most accurate way to do it.

Some of the better ways would be to see how they walk, how much their back is arched, if their hips sag, facial features, etc. Im sure someone can offer better insight than me though.
