why I took the shot I don't know, it was raining hadn't seen **** all day. Climbed down from stand and the rain must have covered the noise cause I noticed him standing out in the field. I watched him and he started coming closer and closer, it's dark i don't have a light had to go back and get one it's raining. I know where he ran it at because theres a clearing. What to do what to do... this would be the first thing I have ever shot with a bow... its gun season too but I'm hung up on trying to get one with my bow..

the rains going to wash any blood away any advice besides wait until I see vulchers circling around?

No don't wait till you see vultures... Was the shot good? Where did you hit him? How did he act, did you get your arrow? What does it look like?

No arrow, pretty good shot for being half dark in the rain. it was less than 15yds so I'm not worried about where I hit, I'm just worried about the rain making him hard to find tommorow

I can see his tracks where he ran but it's all muddy and dark and I'm afraid of messing it up more

If the shot was good, meaning no doubt perfect, I personally wouldn't wait too long depending on how hard it is raining... but If there is any doubt at all the best thing to do is to get up in the morning at first light and start at the impact spot. Which from the way you describe, I would wait until in the morning. First thing.

If its raining the ground is soft. Go to the shot site and track your deer and put your tag on him.
