Hello, I'm a Los Angeles based filmmaker, born and raised in Southeast Wisconsin. I'm shooting a short film near Lake Geneva, WI this November and am looking for a leading man, the role of "Jack." Shoot dates: November 3rd - 5th, 2023 Age Range: Late 40s to 60s. In "Open Season," Jack, in the twilight of his bow hunting days, encounters a reckless thief who steals his hard-earned buck after a successful kill. Jack pursues him on the road. The thief loses control of his vehicle, crashing into a tree. Seizing the opportunity, Jack steals back his prize, leaving the thief on the side of the road. The film explores themes of respect for nature, the consequences of careless actions, and the unyielding pursuit of what one holds dear. Prior acting experience is not at all necessary. I'm more interested in finding something with a long history and deep knowledge and respect for the sport. There's no dialogue. Everything will be expressed through action. Having limited hunting experience myself, I want to rely on the actor playing Jack to provide an authenticity you can't replicate with a traditionally trained actor.
