Hi everyone, I am new to the site but not new to bow hunting. I have just been out of the game for a while, I am looking for a new bow with a short draw length. The other day I stopped in a local pro shop and talked to the guy in the archery dept about my short draw length. I shoot a 25.5 inch draw and he thought I should go to a bow designed for a woman to get the max out of the bow. I thought it sounded about right, what do you all think? Using a bow with a draw length that maxes out at 27 inches instead of 30 or 31. I used to shoot a hoyt pro tech and I usually shot about 65lb draw. He recommended the Bowtech carbon rose, and said he might be able to get the cams in black instead of purple. Is there any other bow you would recommend? I do use a release and I would like to stay 60lb or more draw weight. Thanks!
I shoot a Hoyt Faktor 30 set at a 26" draw length and 65# pull and love it. I have not had any problems at all. In the end you should shoot what feels best for you but don't think you have to limit your selection because your draw length is shorter. Hope this helps some.
Mathews makes a couple great bows for short draw. The ChillR and the Chill SDX. Definitely worth a look. SCFox
