    Hi guys,

This is my first time posting and was wondering if I could get some input on a light draw bow. I have been bowhunting for a few years now and recently my girlfriend has expressed interest in learning how. The problem is that she is very small, she has a 21 inch draw length and is only 5 feet tall. She hasn't drawn a bow back but I'm guessing she will be able to draw back somewhere around 40 pounds, hopefully a little more by opening day.
I am thinking about buying a Diamond Razor Edge bow, this seems to be one of the highest rated bows for someone like her and it is in my price range. The big thing I am worried about is with such a short draw length will she be able to get good enough penetration on a whitetail?
The bow comes with a hostage arrow rest, which I read are junk, I think I will switch it out for an NAP Apache, they seem more reliable and the drop away rest will give her a little extra speed. I am also wondering about what to do when buying her arrows, I figure if we cut them to 22 inches or so the arrow (Carbon Xpress Thunderstorm) would probably weight around 300 grains with a 100 grain broadhead, which seems pretty light to me. I think I would rather sacrafice a little bit of speed for arrow weight to increase penetration. Should I leave the arrows short or maybe cut them a little longer (Maybe 2 inches or so?) to increase weight?
I was also wondering what broadhead I should be looking for. Obviously mechanicals are out, but I was wondering if standard slick tricks would have enough penetration to get the job done, or should I go with a cut-to-tip 2 blade broadhead for max penetration?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated and if anyone has any advice or lessons learned from teaching a first time archer I would be all heard. Thank You.
