I have the smaller one and mine do the same thing also. I have shot it quite a bit and the center is a little wore out but if I shoot the corners my fletchings dont quite hit the target. Close but not quite.
I have no practice blades for my muzzys. That's probably the problem. I"ll run a sharpening stone across the blades and see if I get less penetration.
Yeah these targets are like throwing your money into a black hole. Mine is total junk. Had pass-throughs within a few shots
I just got this a few weeks ago, and for me it works pretty well. I only payed around 25 bucks for it and I use it probably everyday other day practicing for the weekend hunts. But the reason it probably works for me is because I'm pulling about 45 pounds and most of you guys are probably pulling 70..
Almost bought one of these a few weeks back. So glad that I didn't after reading all these posts about it now.
I a have cabelas green block target that I got during there archery weekend for $30ish. I was blowing through it within 10 minutes of shooting it. I guess thats what you get for paying so little. Next I want a Rinehart rhinoblock, not I just have to save up to get one.
I use my Blackhole as a back stop b/c that's about all it's good for. Mine will stop arrows at 40yds + and even then it almost touches the fletching. Bought a Rhineheart 18-1 and the volley ball size one. They are awesome!!!! Arrow removal can be a pain for certain arrows. I shoot CX Maximas with the buff tuff coating and my arrows come out like butter compared to my buddys gold tips. He's gotta put his foot on the target and pull with both hands.
I have this target too, I use field tips on it and wasn't having arrows go all the way through, but it was letting them through, not to the fletchings either. I only paid around $50 for it and I guess you get what you pay for.
I havent seen this target, but bought a cheap one from walmart with targets on all sides and I could shoot at 20 yards and still not pass through
