Josh/OH and I are shooting the R100 in Coshocton, OH this Saturday and Sunday. Pretty excited about the shoot. Even though I have shot a couple hundred 3D shoots, I have never been to the R100. Pre-registered online last night. I signed myself up for the bowhunter class, and signed Josh up in the Non-Resident crossbow class. Weather permitting we should also find time to set some trail cams up this weekend. Can't wait, will post some photos from the weekend. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
I am going to be shooting in the IL shoot later this year. Pretty excited myself. Good luck in the crossbow division @Josh/OH I hear it's not quite like the archery division but "close enough"
I keep wanting to attend one of these every year, but the closest ones are always 3-4 hours drive and it never fails I have something else going on that weekend. Hope you boys have fun! Josh - don't let the haters get to you. If people can choose their gender, they can also chose which type of bow they want to use on the 3D range.
Pay attention to the other threads, Justin. It's a shoulder-anchored, stored energy, red dot mounted, lighting bolt firing mechanism for the super sophisticated "bowhunter". Good enough for Daryl Dixon... good enough for the rest of us! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They are based here in WI and have an upcoming event at Sparta. I looked over their web site. I was surprised to see they do not offer a classification for crossbowers, only archers are allowed to participate. Since its only target archery I'm shocked they would not include that revenue stream.
Crossbows are allowed to shoot the course but do not have a classification to compete. There are classifications for youth, bowhunter and target archery.
Rinehart's policy??? Its a Rinhart event. I cant find a crossbow class in any of the states the event is held.
Here are the links to the general facts and schedule for the R100. https://www.r100.org/faq/ https://www.r100.org/events/
About 3.5 hours. I'm about the same distance from the Sparta, WI shoot as well. The R100 used to be unknown distance, but there was too many lost arrows and people looking for arrows slowed the whole thing down. So they switched over to known distance a few years ago to help speed it up.
I shot it in Roanoke, TX this year and it was pretty cool. My first 3D event but I shot it just for fun. Started early and went to the North American side first day and the African side was packed. The second day we had the African side to ourselves. Killed my first giraffe, elephant and cape buffalo!
