Shooting the nock off with a bare shaft at 35 yards! On VIDEO.. I was Bare shaft / Micro tuning my new Helim and was amazed how far I can shoot a bare shaft with this bow. I asked my wife to bring my iPad out to film how well my bare shafts were shooting and on the first series of shots at 35 yards.... ...Check out the video.
Very nice. I wish more hunters would take the time to sweat the details on their gear. Have you tried this yet with broadheads? I been able to shoot bare shafts with large fixed bladed Phantoms out to 20 yards with great results. Adding blazer vanes only makes the flight better out to 70 yards (only in practice not hunting).
I have, but not with this bow yet..... I have shot a muzzy 3 blade with a bare shaft. It is a bit dangerous and you need to clear the area way around the target , just in case. My over all distant record for shooting a bare shaft with a field point is 42 yards with my current Helim. I am not done yet....
Yup, 35yards. The white target to the left was 25 yards. The deer target is the huge GlenDel Full Rut Buck.
So your saying the white target is 10 yards in front of the 3-d target. Wow, looks 10 yards behind in the video.
I thought that at first, but it's hanging in the air. You can tell when he's walking up to the target.
I see it now, when he walks up to the target. When he is shooting,it looks like the target is beside the building.
If you look in the video, right after I shot the nock, I look back at my wife and tell her NOT to turn off the video. I wanted it to be on as I walk the entire way up to the target, from shot to target. It's hard to get a accurate depth perspective from one camera angle. You guys put all the clues together pretty well. When the video first starts, on the far right is the back end of a Polaris X2 with the tail gate down, it is at 20 yards. That white Morrel Eternity target is hanging from the tree and it is at 25 yards. The building behind the Glendel Full Rut buck target is 18' wide by 38' long. Funny thing is this past Saturday when I filmed this, it was 93 degrees and high humidity. I am in my typical scrub cloths as I practice, never thinking anyone else would see the video.
My wife was lucky enough to capture the video on my new Ipad. You can see I had to take it from her so she wouldnt turn it off. In fact, as soon as I took the iPad from her I had to check to make sure she pressed record.........
