How do you shoot out of your stand? Sitting down or standing up? I stay sitting down when I hunt and I shoot from that position too because I don't want to stand up and risk spooking deer. Just curious

I shoot most of my deer while I am sitting ! But some don't follow the plan and walk on the wrong side so I have to stand and turn to shoot them :D

The second I see a deer or think I hear one I stand up. Too much risk in standing when they're close. I also like having the range of motion that comes with standing. I do practice sitting in case something creeps up on me.

Standing here. I find it hard to shoot sitting down in my climber and feel more accurate standing up.

I havent arrowed a deer yet but, I practice standing up. Last season my longest hit with a firearm was standing up. I usually stay sitting down until the sun starts coming up so do I. I usually stay that way for a good 1-1/2 to 2 hours at a time then sit down for 30 min or so until it is time to go home.

    Sitting down.
It's so much more stabler for me. I try to situate my stand on the side of the tree so I have almost a 180* degree shooting range. It almost feel like cheating sitting down because you have no body movement.

I've never shot a deer sitting down... keep telling myself I'm going to do it before I hit #100... but I'm running out of time pretty quickly.

I've only shot them with a gun while sitting.. Standing with a bow because I'm always in my climber. After I get a couple hangons I'm sure I'd shoot out of those sitting if the deer cooperated.

I've only taken shots standing up but that is because the deer have been on my off-hand side. If a deer would follow my intentions for them, I wouldn't bother standing up. Like said before: virtually no movement when you stay seated. Practice both ways.

    HUNT the WAY you PRACTICE

Well, im kind of new to bow hunting and i have practiced shooting standing all the time....For some reason i felt i should practice standing. But when I would hunt i was sitting most of the time. When I noticed i was not shooting as well I decided to practice different shooting positions... I GUESS MY WORD OF ADVICE IS IF YOUR GONNA HUNT.....HUNT THE WAY YOU PRACTICE.....WHETHER ITS SITTING,STANDING,OR ON A KNEE...Hell practice in every position because you don't want to be in a uncomfortable shooting position when that BIG BUCK comes around.

I'm in the same situation as many others on here. I'm always in my climber and feel more stable and accurate standing. I will always stand immediately upon seeing or hearing anything. That way I minimize movement when the deer are close. I thought about practicing sitting down this season to improve my odds if the situation presents itself. My buddy suggested buying a 5 gallon bucket and sitting on that while at the range. Said it worked well for him.

Standing for me. I stand more when im in my treestand than sit anyways, plus I prefer to have the extra room to make adjustments for a shot.

Every deer I have ever shot with my bow has been sitting. I like to keep my movements to a minimum.
