How does one go about resharpening blades on mechanicals any way? Seems it would be fairly difficult to keep the angle correct.
Speaking for the blades of a slick trick (not really a mechanical, but still replaceable blades) I first check for bent blades or nicks on the edges. If that's good then I continue sharpening... I probably wouldn't want to bend back a blade that has been bent. After that I use a lansky sharpener with a carbide tapered rod followed by some strokes on the ceramic surface. I just take my time because I don't want to take off very much metal or mess up the angle. The whole process is less than 10 minutes and brings an edge back, but it's never as sharp as new. Close enough, in my opinion. Still sharper than the 60 degree G5 montecs I also have in my quiver. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I had one Slick Trick that I shot 8 deer with before I lost it in a creek several years ago after shooting a deer straight through the heart from 43 yds. away... Not sure there is a better BH on the market, and my bows tuned easily to them... I've probably shot 20 deer using Slick Tricks, and never been disappointed!!!
