Question has zero to do with bone though. Some guys are far too wrapped up in the Meat vs. Bone discussion.

If it's not about that, then why would it matter?
I really take an issue with people telling other people what they can/should be killing. Unless I am hunting on land that you own, the only people who can tell me what I can kill are the regulatory agency.
In areas where does are legal to harvest, by all means kill a doe/fawn. They are legal to harvest because there is a good population that can handle the harvest.
If you say "don't kill a fawn because it might be a buck" then we are back to it being about trophy hunting

I don't shoot fawns personally but I don't do it for any reason even remotely related to bone. I like an overall healthy aged deer herd, and taking fawns doesn't accomplish this in my opinion personally. If I'm filling the freezer I want to do it with older does that are bigger and will fill it up more, I am not by choice going to kill a fawn or yearling doe or buck that is half the size meat wise as taking a more mature one.

I'll never tell someone they were wrong or blast them for legally harvesting a deer where it is allowed by owner or state if hunting public. Doesn't mean I personally have to agree with the harvest at all.

But it has zero to do with bone for me at all and I would guess many others.

This reads like you are judging others for what they harvest to me. Maybe I am misunderstanding

I have no problem with someone choosing to limit what they personally shoot. I pass extremely small bucks because I would like to shoot a larger one. I try to fill the freezer with does and fawns. That's my choice. If I wanted to kill spikes for the freezer, that would also be my choice. We don't all have to agree, but I don't think it's right to judge others for legally harvesting any deer

Depends on who you ask.. Personally I don't put much stock in what others think of what I decide to shoot or not shoot.

I could talk both sides of the fence on the topic, but really the only one that should matter is you.

Your choice and my choice don't have to be the same, your opinion and my opinion doesn't have to be the same either...I will never judge someone based on what they harvest so long as legal and they don't make excuses for what they chose to harvest. I can definitely see how what I posted would make someone feel like I'm judging but I am just 100% answering honestly how I personally view it, nothing more and nothing less.

I'm the first person to state nearly daily on Facebook this time of year, "If legal, if fair chase and if they hunter is happy that is all that matters. Hunting is supposed to be a personal thing, what I or anyone else shouldn't matter to whether someone chooses to release an arrow or shoot a bolt/bullet."
