Shooting a doe before the rut/ruining a stand?

    Something that happens one day at a stand does not deter me from killing. Especially this early. Shoot does now.

    I have passed many during MN rut though. I’ve had so many experiences of young bucks chasing does where I can’t shoot… because we all know there could be a bigger buck following the young buck.

    Unless you are seeing daytime pics of the bucks you are full send. It will cool down. On the other side I always have the best luck on the first 2 sits of a stand. I have stands that I only hunt during certain situations. If that is not your way then kill early and let it cool.

    And I agree with LC Rut occurs later the further south you go.

    Well, just shot a doe at the stand on the other side of the bedding area. She fell and died within seconds. No track job and no disturbing of the bedding area…
