Should i shoot this deer because he is only a six trying to be a seven, so i can get him out of the genes, or should i pass him and hope he gets bigger?
And the second Buck looks like he has a tumor. Can anyone tell if it is a tumor or just his ear?

Heck, I would shoot that first buck any day! That last pic looks funny. Not sure whats wrong with it, but it almost looks like he is missing the ear on that side.

    :tu: agree

unless you really want to have a strict management program. and if thats the case, with this situation i would let him grow. hell the winter might kill him. let nature take its course. if he grows he grows. my $.02

Only you know the answer to that question. If he makes you happy, take him. That look like a tumor/growth that I believe is actually pretty common (I've had a few pics of does with them). If I remember correctly, they are mostly benign and go away often prior to the season. I have seen some pics of deer that have been harvested with them, though.

depending on the county you are in the state of mo there are antler restrictions that have a min of four points on one side so check your book. after that shoot anything you feel is a trophy to you not others.

My determining factor is whether or not it's an eater, so don't ask me.

It's all about what you want. I hear a lot of people say "It's a good bow buck." But me, I would never shoot a deer with a bow that I wouldn't shoot with a rifle. It's just me, it's my way of looking at it. I want them to be 4 1/2 or older when I let that arrow go. This is you, don't worry about what everyone else thinks or says. But if you want him to get bigger give him a year, if he doesn't gain much more take him out.

Shooting it because of "bad genes" is almost as bad as shooting it "because someone else will". It's early yet, that buck is gonna be pretty nice by the time he gets done growing, and very well could be an 8 by then.

As far as the 2nd buck, I think its his ear.
