I would shoot. I hunt a small tract of land though and I know that as soon as gun season rolls around the odds of him finishing out a year gets real slim.
Definitely a pass from me. Where I hunt I'm not considering shooting anything unless I think it's 4.5. After that it gets an arrow regardless of rack size.
Waiting also means that there is a chance he will survive and you will kill a great deer in a year or two. The only guarantee with shooting him now is that he will never get bigger.
