Well I am upgrading from my FX to a z7x. I would like to have the FX sold before I do but that isn't looking like it's going to happen.
I have the bow for sale locally because I don't want to ship it. I have had a few bites but no cash.
I am selling everything, case and all, as I won't need it because the xtreme won't fit.
My question is, what is the best way people have shipped? Do I just take the case to the ups store and tell them to ship it? Is there anything special people have done? Do you find it's just too expensive compared to the price of the bow?

I pack them in a bow box and ship them UPS or Fed Ex. I always insure for the full amount.

Selling an older model is not easy especially if you are trying to get top dollar. You might search Ebays completed listings to get an idea of what your particular model might sell for.

    Thanks Dan,
But what about shipping the case and everything?
I think the price is pretty good actually. Well, I'm asking $300. That's for the bow (with all acc), case, release, and some arrows. The rest is a brand new QAD and so is the case. The bow shoots great and the string is in good shape. I don't think that's too much, from what I've seen the bow goes for $300. And you're basically getting $100 in extras. I've had quite a few bites at $350 and even sweetened it with the $300 offer.
I just don't want this to go to a bow shop for $200 or so.

Hard Case? You can just ship in a hard case with everything secured (latches) but it can get pretty expensive when you get into oversize packages. If you sell it just allow enough for shipping. You can't really eat it.

Sounds like you are selling it for a fair price.:)

    Thanks again Dan,
Yeah that is half the issue. If I try to recover the cost in shipping, then the price will be too high... looks like i have 2 choices really...

    1. Just don't worry about time constraints and sell it locally.
    2. Go to www.meanvarchery.com , get a new sight and use it to win some bar bets.

I ship bows out using USPS. cost about $10- $15. with the added size and weight I'm guessing $30 + $7 for insurance.

Thanks guys. I guess it has become rather obvious shipping this just won't be feasible. By the time you put it all together, you're looking at 20 to 30% of the cost, at which point i'm taking too much of a loss or someone is paying too much.

Again thanks for your time and help guys.

,2 things about USPS. One their tracking is nonexistent, and two maximum insurance allowed is only $500, which may depend on region, not sure.

I have shipped a few bows USPS Priority when it was absolutely necessary but it always cost me at least $20 or more including insurance and delivery confirmation. They are actually pretty fast and a very nice option for International Shipping but expect to pay upwards from $50. That's still a bargain for International shipping though.

I shipped my bow from Korea to Ohio USPS and Im pretty sure it cost about 30 dollars with insurance and everything. If you ship priority through USPS it might cost a few extra dollars.
