Im using the NAP Quickfletch's as many folks do. Now, has anyone else noticed the distinct hiss sound on the arrows flight? At 10-25 yards I don't really notice it to much but 30-50 yards I can DEF hear it clear as day. I think its because of the grooves in the vanes. Any thoughts on this?

There are a few different types of Quickfletch but due to your explanation I'm assuming your referring to the Quickflecth Quickspins. I have used those for the past two years and have also noticed the "hiss" sound once I start shooting past 30 yards. That's a result of their patented "kicker" on the vanes that help increase the arrows rotation and thus control in flight. It's a give take since the vanes aren't offset or helical so this design has allowed for the faster arrow spin. I was slightly concerned at first but after a few years of use and a few harvests at 30+ yards I plan to continue to use the Quckspins. Your other option would be to use the Quickfletch Twister which does not have the "kicker". The Twister will not rotate your arrow as quickly so you could be giving up arrow control. I personally have liked the additional arrow spin/control so I'm willing to deal with the slight "hiss".....it's the last thing they hear!

I use the same ones and have never noticed it. I will be up at my place shooting later this week so I will have to listen for it.

They whizz when shot, if your worried that its gonna scare deer it won't. They'll hear more of your bow then anythin.

Have you ever stood down range of Blazers? They have the same sound just slightly quieter. Don't worry about it.

The only reason I brought it up was because im partially deaf due to my history with firearms and military, so I thought it was odd that I of all people could hear it but every ones hearing the same thing as me so no big deal if the blazers are quieter then theres now way I could hear it, I can barely hear these ones just enough to know its the arrow

have been using the Quickspins for about the last month. Have also noticed the hissing. Nothing to worry about though. I just refletched all my Blue Streak Selects today with the Quickfletch Twister vanes, so far they seem to be working great.
