This is probably going to be a Wisconsin people only thread. How many still play? JD or call your Ace partner for 5 handed? It seems the Milwaukee crowds play call Ace but anything north of say Fond du Lac plays JD partner. Anyone still play 4 handed hearts (trump) anymore? "Can I?" What is your favorite 4 handed game for diamonds being trump? Cut throat, JD partner, call A, etc. Is Sheepshead a dying game or here to stay for the long haul? It seems very few young people play. Sheepshead is the greatest card game out there bar none if you know how to play.

Some Wisconsin fellas were staying at the same motel as me during deer season and I was over talking to them and asked what game they were playing, it was Sheepshead. I was pretty confused.
You probably heard a lot of the the words, Mauer, smear and of course scnider. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Both sides of my family play it all the time. Every weekend at the campground. I haven't taken the time to learn it yet but is something I really should do and want to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You should. I've found the best way to teach someone the basics is 2 handed which is kinda like war. But at least you get the idea. Then move up to three, four and five handed. If you have people that play often it is time well spent.
Yeah I was taught by a friend when I was way younger but then I didn't play it enough to catch on. We always played euchre, dirty clubs, crap on your neighbor and Tic growing up and sheepshead was what the parents were always playing. I should make it my goal to learn it for camping this coming summer
I love this quote: "How can you not love a game based on ridiculing authority figures and drinking beer?" The Electric Commentary: Sheepshead is the best card game ever.
I used to love playing sheepshead. Haven't played in a very long time. Not sure if I know anyone that knows how to play anymore. Sent from my Galaxy S3 and Tapatalk 2
Soooo, Lets get this game going !!! I used to play in high school in study hall, (remember, I'm 60 YO) we would even rope the teacher in once in a while and once in a while we would clean his clock, LOL ! I love that game, not 4 handed tho, that is a rough one. It seems that a lot of the people that played like my aunts , uncles, dad, are not around anymore, so the gang that plays keeps getting smaller. We can't even get a game going in deer camp, 2 don't know how to play, so we end up playing cribbage.
