I looked forever this spring, and all of the sudden found 4 sheds within about 200 yards. 1 pair and 2 different singles. crazy!

x2 The only shed I ever found was when I was 12. I literally ran into the woods at my uncles house in Vermont, low and behold I found a shed in the first 5 min I got out of the car :bash: . I try to focus on real thick trails that deer use, thinking the antlers will get caught in the thick stuff.

thats what i thought to. i walked a half mile through THICK briars on a well worn deer trail scouting, still hunting, and shed hunting and never found anything. then i walk out in a 50 by 20 yard glade and there is a shed. i run over and grab it and notice the other not 10' away. in an open glade. nothing for them to hang up on at all!! idk im lost. id love to start finding them but i dnt even know where to start

Look around the food sources, bedding area's and the travel routes between them.

I look in the bedding areas and walk the deer trails. Some years I find 30+, others less than 10. I think luck and beating others to the spots play a major role.

i've read that if you look by places where they have to jump thru places that improves your chances. say like over a fence or thru a thicket makes em knock them off, and possibly in pairs.

    Dogs help.

I am going to take mine out with me this year. I have been training him since I got him and we will see how well he does.
