Anybody ever have any luck with them? Or better off not wasting time with them and pounding the pavement instead?

I would never use a shed trap in fear of a buck getting caught up in it and not ready to shed. JMHO :deer:

My vote is to walk also. Anything that involves wire, fencing and ect... seems wrong to me.

The only safe shed trap I know... is using 2 small square hay bales. Set them side by side lengthwise with a 6 - 8" gap. Pour corn or whatever inbetween them. You will have to stake the bales down or they push them a part. If they are ready to shed... they will pop an antler when they try to reach the corn between the bales.

If it is a tough winter they will chew on the hay bales. If you use alfalfa bales they will devour them.
