Walked a little today and only found a dead head. It died early in the year. Still had velvet on his antlers.
I was frost seeding some clover with a buddy yesterday and he took the right path. He picked a nice fresh one while seeding. I probably walked about 10 feet from it and didn't see it. I still got alot of walking to do and will probably be out some this week. Keep at it guys, some bucks are still holding. Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well got another 8" of snow yesterday so hopefully the snow will be gone in time to get out fairly soon, the 40+ degree days makes it go away quite quick.
Pretty cool deadhead, do you keep them when you find them? I kept the one I found last year and cut off the antler for training material for my dog lol.
It's amazing how sharp all the little stickers and points are when they die in velvet. Sent from my Pixel using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Hey guys didn't get out this week. Hit with that big snow storm this week, then got a nasty cold from my kids. Hopefully be back at it this coming week. May try and get out for a hour this afternoon if I'm feeling better. Anyone else getting out this weekend? Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I was out today trying to find the match to this one that our freinds 11 year old kids found in their yard this week but I didn’t find anything. 10” brow tine on that thing.
Yes it is. They are really pointed and there are a lot of them to. Explains how easily the can shred up a tree.
Picked up 1 more after work. Just did a quick little walk. #13 I think Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Man guys I feel like I'm letting the team and my dog down. I've only been able to go twice this whole season and doesn't look like I'll be able to go anytime soon. Just been busy with a lot this spring
I know how you feel. Everytime I have planned to go out we get more snow. The times I have been out I got skunked. i didn't get out to the best piece soon enough and now it's under water.
This has been a tough spring. Here in southern Illinois it seems like it has been raining for a month. Not complaining because you don’t have to shovel rain but a lot of the creek bottoms are underwater so some of my shed hunting ground is underwater. Did get out today and found one from last year.
Picked up 2 more this afternoon! Number 14 & 15 Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
