Besides a lab, what other dogs have you seen being used as a shed dog?? I always like being different and not going with the crowd. Gonna train a poodle!

We have a GSP. Great stamina and speed with a incredible nose and intelligence. He picked it really good when he was a pup. Just haven't had time to keep him going. [IMG]

Never used the book. Time I see what it takes in most cases.

New member here - first time posting.

I have two labs - one is trained and the other is getting there. I have seen springer spaniels, GSP, and German Shepherds. Any dog that can retrieve can become a shed dog.

Dog has to have a hunt drive, want to retrieve and willingness to please. I believe you train them to recognize an antler by sight and then train by smell. The good lord gave labs and other breeds great noses - so training them to scent an antler is natural if you do certain things right.

I am wanting to find shed dogs in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina and Southern Missouri.

If you have a shed dog, please send me a private message.

    Thanks
