Was able to find a match yesterday. Squirrels already on the one more out of snow. Dang tree rats! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Picked up another old one yesterday on a quick walk after work. Ruck was able to get to this one just as I saw it, so I'll give it to him. His second for the year! FYI that is not me in the picture. I'm not that pretty.
I walked a spot today i thought for sure would produce. Ive walked this spot for years and still cant pin point the "spot" when I have found antlers in the past they have been big. But its a lot of walking for 1 or 2 out of there. Sent from my SM-N920P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
We got 1.5" of rain so our now is starting to disappear. I might try that hay bale spot at noon again to see if anything got uncovered. My wife is gone so I doubt i'll be shed hunting at all this weekend but will be hitting it hard next Friday-Sunday if the weather holds true.
Well I made it out there but it didn't look like it had melted a whole lot so didn't get out of the truck. I did however see a little slough island surrounded by brush that i've noticed deer in the last 3 or 4 times i've driven past on some public land. I tried walking out there a little ways but sank past my knees in snow. Next week i'm going to get my snow shoes out and see if I can't get out there and take a look.
I picked up a great set in an area exactly as described but on private. Had looked at a million times, finally got permission, and discovered a side by side set 15' into the slough. Of course I have not been back since, but I will be this year now that I remember it. Hopefully you have the same or better results.
Hopefully! It's about 150 yards from the hay bale field so i'm somewhat confident that they are using that little island for their thermal bedding. Fingers crossed!
Picked up 1 more yesterday, a year old antler and i didnt realize it until i got home its the same side to the big four i found this year. Was pretty burried, didnt realize how big it was untill i dug it out. Sent from my SM-N920P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Put this on the live thread too but: Mom was gone so little man and I took a quick walk this afternoon. Didn't go where I was real confident but it was a good easy spot to get to with all the snow we have yet. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Saw 7 bucks in the last 2 days holding both sides. 3 of them were on private ground. I went and did some homework and found the owners house and knocked with no answer. Looks like its a summer house for a woman that lives in Fl. I know guys sneak in and walk it but i did a reverse addresssearch and im hoping by being a good guy ill get permission.. lets see Sent from my SM-N920P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Me and Ruck were able to pick up 6 sheds this weekend including a half of a quality 10 point on Fix's (another forum member) property which Ruck found. That is his 3rd solo find of the year! I also picked up a half of a typical 12 which I am 99% sure was a two year old this past season. He has the type of genetics and frame to be a legitimate Boone & Crockett buck if he gets a couple more years of age on him. The rest of the sheds were either old or little. This week I will be heading to some very promising land after work, so weather permitting, the sheds should start stacking up. I am up to 17 including the dog finds.
Found a cool 3 point from a super old buck. Was a year old shed or super early drop. Ill go with year old. Sent from my SM-N920P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
