Mine has to be last years triple with a bow. (Maryland allows unlimited doe tags and no limit on per day). I was sitting on an acorn flat and had a deer walk in about 45 yards away. She was followed by about 8-9 more does of various sizes. My target was the big lead doe as she by far the biggest. After watching these does browse for what felt like an eternity, a medium size starts walking to my right.. right into the my scent trail with the wind blowing from my front left to my rear right. I am thinking, got to take her to get one. If she winds me, she will blow out and they will all dissapear. I put a shot right into the vitals and she took off. I expected the rest of the does to run as well.. they lifted their heads to watch her run off and then went back to browsing! I put another arrow on and wait... and wait, and wait. 20 minutes later, they have moved about 10' to the right.. still not optimal bow range for me. A large limb from a dead tree breaks off and lands in the middle of the herd and they all jump in different directions, ran a few yards away.. and went back to browsing. That put the big doe in range, clean broadside shot at about 35 yards. I hit her perfectly. That sent them all in different directions! I am watching my second run down the hill and out of sight when I hear a twig snap.. under me! Another large doe is 2' from the tree I am in. I aim.. no clear sight picture. She walks about about 5 yards and stands there.. SMACK! She ran 30 yards and piled up. I recovered #2 after a short tracking job. #1 we lost the trail in the dark. Found her the next morning.. but a fox or coyote found her first. Craziest hunt I have had in a long time.
