I know it has been brought up before, but i have some shady spots at the farm that do get a little bit of sunlight because of sparse mature trees. Its actually a creek bottom that is pretty open.

If you guys were to plant it, what would you use?

Clover seems to do better than a lot of stuff in partial shade. But if it's in the woods you probably need to put down a lot of lime first to get your ph close.

Oats and clover usually do better in the shade but won't get thick or lush. Lime is key as stated. Hinge over just a few southern side trees and lighten it up a touch.

I have really good luck with a wheat, oats and clover mix planted around first week of August. Good Luck!
