It's pretty disgusting when you search the registrations and see the amount of these disgusting animals that are out there.
Sweet. Somewhat, like my Daddy used to say "Don't you start it, but if they do finish it." #3 and practice open carry while walking your dog, or planting your flowers, or washing the truck. Educating kids and making sure they have self-defense instruction. Stinks, but it's practically mandatory in this day and age.
Crime statistics suggest otherwise (as far as the insinuation that times are worse now than they have ever been). Paranoia and reporting of these type issues on a national platform is at an all time high for sure though. As for what I'd do. Nothing as a young single guy. If I had kids it would depend on the exact situation. Who it was, how close, what crime he actually committed, what my options were for moving, etc.
Actually, I keep a marlin 17 hmr in my garage, but that's just for the damn woodchuck that likes to dig up my lawn. And I'm all for personal protection but a loaded shotgun with buckshot by each of the entrances of your home is a whole different level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't think I can really answer this question as a single 24 year old, I just about guarantee my answer will change once I have kids. I already told my girlfriend that if she takes the concealed carry class, I would buy her her very own pistol (or give her my S&W Shield and buy a smaller 1911 for me ) We actually had a guy work with us for a little while that was on the registered sex offender list. I'm not exactly sure what he did, but I know that it was with an underage girl. He didn't last long with us, we basically made him quit after we found out.
thats the problem with many registries they don't tell you what the offense is so depends on what the offense was, was he a child molester or rapist, or was he a 17yo teen who had sex with his 16yo GF and got caught... The sex offender registry really needs to be reevaluated and prioritized .. I am all for giving folks a second chance but there are limits.
I did ,.... I was echoing what you said ... but you said nothing of the system needing to be refined..
I would for sure do a combination of 2-4 and likely 1 if we still weren't comfortable. But in reality, what about a first time offender? You could move to a new location and someone could just as likely do something to your wife/kids for the first time. It doesn't make sense to live in fear, but you do everything in your power to keep your family safe, so you get away from the people you know are bad and hope you don't surround yourself with people who have the potential to be bad so you have to do something in this scenario. The quote in another post fits the bill perfectly: "Be polite. Be Professional. But have a plan to kill everybody you meet".
He can have a second chance, but not at the expense of my family. I'm not about to put my trust in mankind, especially a diddler.
Tell that to the victims of sexual predators. There's no lower life form on this planet than sexual predators. I have no place for them, and especially no use for them if a child is involved.
Not if you have children. We have two daughters, seven and four (five in April). Even if we trust them, they will have friends over. We keep the guns well out of reach.
The OP defined the scenario as a malicious crime such as rape or child molestation (not a 17 year old sleeping with his 16 year old girlfriend). I don't need someone to classify them, I need them removed from society - execution, placed on an island, and Tony's method are all acceptable.
