First off, I finally hunted the stand (and took the memory card) where I thought a camera had captured a picture of my buck that I took on the 3rd. Now there is no doubt in my mind they are the same buck. The space between the G2 and G3 is what gave him away as he was approaching me. I thought the picture was from the morning before, but I must of had it confused with another picture on the card. Anyways he was about 3/4 of a mile away on the night of the 1st. and 2 days later... A little before 7 this morning I caught movement off to my left after a short rattling session. I grabbed my bow and quickly recognized the buck (AKA "Little Rob"). I have said all along that if I get the chance I would take him. Well I had him there at 30 yards broadside, and just kept telling myself he was only 2.5 years old, so I let him go. The following is one of the many pictures I have of him, as he has shown himself at nearly every camera on the property, all at night though. Today was the first look at him during the day by camera or actual sighting. Then there is "Big Rob". I only have one picture of him from before the season, but he is definantly mature, and is a shooter IMO. I haven't seen him yet during the season, well that was until this morning. He must of slipped in and bedded about 70 yards from my stand without me knowing. As I was walking out he stood up and I hunkered into some brush. I grunted, but he just simply walked off. He is a buck I would love to take. This afternoon, I grabbed my sticks and a lock on and set up on the last standing corn field on our property. It had not been hunted all year, and a S wind was good for it. A little after 3 this nice 2.5 year old 9 pointer came trotting in. The picture below is one from where he responded to my calling last week and posed perfect for the camera. I have passed on him now 4 times this year.
