If the Silvarado has the ability to drop down to 4 cylinders on the highway (sans towing) like I believe the news ones come with, it should be a no brainer, much more truck with almost the same GPM.

Ford is trying to jump into contention with a F150 4x4. We'll see how it goes now.

    Except for the fact it's a GM product:D I kid, I kid.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't consider the Ridgeline. Uni-body. Enough said:D

I will tell you from experience (I own an 05 TRD Tacoma). You won't get AMAZING mileage in these midsize trucks compared to most modern 1/2 tons. Will it be better? Absolutely. Enough to make the size sacrifice? That's up to you. I have the towing package with the transmission & oil cooler, bigger alt, etc,. and I still wouldn't want to tow anything of significant size for very long unless I was on relatively flat ground.

They're great trucks. Great ground clearance, reliable, and great resale. They just shouldn't be thought of a 1/2 ton with better mpg.

Did you say $11k off plus trade in?

Must be a local thing there?

    After driving a F150 and Tacoma, I drove the Silverado 4x4 Z71.

Stock photo. They have to go pick it up from another dealership tomorrow. For the LT series this one has all the bells and whistles. $42K vehicle for $19.2K after all said and done.

I pulled a photo of a Silver Silverado K1500 Z71 Extended Cab and that was the first photo.

Pretty much a done deal. They're picking it up tomorrow and then it has to be undercoated, bed liner sprayed in and nerf bars attached. Then I can pick it up.

They're dropping prices all over the place. My wife and I ended up going in to get her a new SUV and after some talking and researching on my own afterwards, I might be in a 2012 truck for much less than my payments are now. 9k off sticker plus trade-in.

Not really, they're handy for knocking the snow or mud off your boots before you get in the truck. With my wife, seeing my vehicle dirty is almost enough to give her a stroke every time.
