This is a video that I made for seventh grader from where I grew up in VA. He's been training with my brother for well over a year now, and he recently came down to visit us in NC to get some more training we shot this while he was down here. His name is Davon Smith and this kid as unlimited amounts of potential. I film for Micah Lancaster who, in the basketball world is one of the top 3 trainers at any level (grassroots, high school, college, NBA). He's trained Kobe Bryant, Amare Stoudemire, Deron Williams and several of Duke's current players, so he knows his stuff. Right now Micah has compared Davon to Derrick Rose, John Wall and Chris Paul at that age and says he's one of the top 5 seventh graders in the country. It's just truly incredible how talented this kid is. The best part is he's just an overall good kid who just enjoys playing basketball. Enjoy the video! http://vimeo.com/28031892
This kid is definitely something special. We'd work out 2-3 hours a day then, as soon as we'd get back to the apartment, he'd start doing pushups, situps and pullups. One night he did 111 straight push ups...took a minute break and did 111 straight more...took a minute break and did 111 straight more...111 is pretty tough for a kid that age but 111 straight 3 times, Unbelievable!
awsome talent. ball skills are terrific. let's hope his court awareness is also outstanding. Great camera work Big Shooter. Is the trainee better than the trainer. Just asking. Great job to you brothers.
STUD. Wahoohunter. One of my wife's players was offered by UVA just recently. She is going to be a junior this year and her recruiting levels have gone through the roof. I really hope she chooses UVA to play b-ball because I believe she will fit in real well in that environment. She is over a 4.0 student as well. I bet she has nearly 20 full ride offers on the table right now, and many of those schools are in the top 25.
I agree. I was asked to walk on at UVA. It was enticing, however I could not turn down money to play at a 1-AA school with comparable academics. AND, UVA was absolutely loaded with pro talent on the defensive side of the ball in the mid-90's. Probably UVA's finest assembly of defensive players in it's history. I would have never seen the field.
