This will be only my 3rd year going after Turkeys. I need advice from the following map of my hunting grounds. I show where we have put the blind our first two years. Where it says new corn has been CRP land for many years and was plowed last fall to prepare for the new corn. The woods going south to north...west to east....and east to west goes downhill fairly steep toward the middle.

We face the blind toward the west (looking over CRP land (weeds) because we really can't see into the woods from the field edge because it is thick and drops fairly fast. Looking to the west toward the property line is up hill and I can't see the top where it flattens out.

I have been worried that if we put our blind in the woods we might chase roosted birds out....if they are there... when we walk in. I feel the woods isn't big enough to "run and gun" and try to set up a spot in the dark because its not a big woods and you can see across it at spots . We often hear turkeys to the north, and over the hill to the west and down in the woods to the east. I have a flat spot in mind that is about 75 yards into the woods down a trail going north from the white trailers that I'm considering setting up the blind. My son and I each shot turkeys the first year and both got skunked last year with the blind in the marked spot. Thoughts??
