Because of my new job this year, I'm on the road quite a bit more and haven't had my line out much at all this season... the Christmas break is going to afford me a bit of time to go after some predators though. Nailed this beautiful alpha male this morning... put on quite a show for us barking and growling at us as we approached. I've also had the pleasure of getting a buddy started and helping to mentor him in the sport; he connected on yote #2 yesterday morning and I was along to snap a few pics.
WOW....What a great looking Coyote! That top picture sure would make a nice pose for a mount, trap an all!
Not going to mount him, but I'll probably keep his hide and get it tanned ... Greg, I wished I'd weighed him; I'm PURELY guessing here, but I'd say he'd been pushing 40 lbs. Didn't throw him on a scale... High 30's, at least. He was a biggun. Mean sucker too.
Beautiful looking yote Greg. Congrats on your catch !! Congrats also to your buddy for his two yotes and a new adventure !! I wish I had more time to trap also. Man are they running all over here. I've have them yipping/singing to me every night as I am walking back to the truck. Doesn't matter where I hunt and I cover a big area. Unreal the last 5 years how their numbers have exploded here!! They are hunted hard but it doesn't even seem to put a dent in them. Tim
Awesome coyote, Greg ... he would look real nice in a pounce pose on the beam of my great room ... .... gotta wait a little and see how bad Christmas hit me
Hard to believe someone would write the above quote expecting people to believe it..........and then post pics showing the exact opposite.
