A few months ago someone at my pro shop messed up my cable while adjusting my draw length and I had to get it re served. Now it looks like this. Is this normal? I feel like I shouldn't be able to see any red. Thanks for the help guys.

Yeah for some reason I couldn't upload it on my phone. Had to email it to myself and upload it on the computer. Got it now!

Mine is that way around the cams. I think they get served while the string is straight and once it bends around the cam they tend to spread out some. I don't think it will hurt anything. Not the best looking serving job though.

Alright thanks, I just didn't want it to break on me or anything thing like that. It really does bug me that it looks like that though, I feel they could've done a better job.

Like MM said, its not going to hurt anything, it's just going to wear faster - so just keep an eye on it... The problem with the loops is that once the string\cable is made - you can't use a jig to get that nice tight serving - pretty much the only option is to hand serv it which is I'm sure what they tried doing for you.... And with it being a loop - I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone that can serv it perfectly the way it was when the string was made... If it bothers you, its probably cheaper, easier and faster to just have them put on a new cable....

It won't hurt anything at all. Many custom string makers will tell you that it is fine and that even custom strings will do the same. It's just part of the normal wear and fit process.

The part that is riding on the pin is usual, it separates because of the sharp bend in the cable. But near the loop it looks like it is fraying due to poor tie off. As for the end loop serving and seeing red that is some what normal.

    Are these stock strings?

Yes they are but this part was re served by my pro shop. They usualy do a pretty good job but Idk what happened here. And it has been like this for a few months with no visual change, it just worries me everytime I look at it.

Where the serving is coming apart its hard to tell if there is more to it then meets the eye. Also if the pro shop didn't put the cable on a string jig and stretch it at 300 or better pounds. Then this would be he reason why its coming apart.

That would bother me too. I'd wait until the season ends, which should be soon, and replace it. By the way, that was a great pic you provided.
