So we're looking for a sectional to put in the new room when it's finished. We want fabric (preferablly micro suede). We have sat on quite a few we like, and picked two out that we really liked (a piece from Ashley and from Berkline). Came home, did some quick searches, and the reviews were HORRIBLE. Sounds like you get a good 1-2 years max out of anything from either of these companies (odd, because I thought Ashley was a decent mid-range company, but I know about nothing when it comes to furniture).

So, what do you guys have in your house? I need something that will LAST. We don't have kids or pets, but who knows what the future holds. I don't want to be purchasing new furniture every 5 yrs.

When we moved in three years ago we loaded our house with stuff from Wickes and Harlem Furniture through their 0% deals. Needless to say, they are on par with Ashley's reviews. We are starting to look for a new sectional to replace our current living room set and things are getting pretty pricey for "decent" furniture:(

We bought one, this past fall (just before Brett and Josh came down). Here's a link to our source.

Living where we do, we have many options (we have a large contingency of furniture mfr's here, locally).

    Good luck.

We decided against a sectional after much much shopping and research... We went with a micro suede sofa, love seat combo for $1300 out the door, but for the life of me I can't remember the manf.... We've only had it 6 months, so I can't give you a review which does no good without a name anyway...lol. Glad I could Help. :D

    Edit:

It's Jackson Furniture (CatNapper) and it's Micro Fiber not suede... :)

Go with a flexsteel if you're planning on keeping it for15-20yrs. I'm pretty sure they have sectionals

If you think you may end up with pets, I'd avoid the microfiber.

Thanks, guys. If pets ever come into the picture, they WON'T be inside (at least if I have any say in it).

Jeff, you certainly are in a GREAT location. We were planning to sit in as many as possible local, and then possibly ordering from a NC direct store. Even after shipping, you save money.

It just seems like the VERY high priced furniture that gets good reviews is downright ugly or uncomfortable.

Matt, a few months ago I a got dragged down to the mall down in Selinsgrove. While the girls were all out seaching for baby stuff in Boscov's I went hunting for a man couch. I was quite surprised to find several options in that store. You might want to try the Lycoming County Mall. Prices were very reasonable. If you want something nicer try Plaza House. My sister-in-law worked in the one in Bloom while going to college about 15 years ago. They still have the sectional they purchased there and I'd take it off their hands any day of the week. If I can get a hold of them tonight I'll find out the manufacturer.

Matt, just got off the phone w/ SIL, they purchased a Lazy Boy. Still couldn't convince her to give that one up and buy another. Been 15 years... when is she gonna cave?!?

Funny you mention that. We're going to be making a trip to Wilkes-Barre to check out Raymour and Flanigan as well as the La-z-bow outlet. Thanks for looking into it for me.
