Well at least a young man in todays day and age with his head on his shoulder!!! My friend, you are making the right choice, been there, done that and some!! Research where you want to hunt(Iowa would seem smart to me) and enjoy yourself to the utmost. Best of luck in your search, let us know where you decide to hunt! GOD BLESS.

Asking questions on forums doesn't cost a penny.

There are some guys on here that are really good with topo and aerial maps. Plenty of hunting blogs on the internet to help you out as well.

Props to you man. I worked every day, every year during spring break and just had a fire, couple beers and a good time with the boys after dark and wouldn't take it back if I could. Keep on keepin on and doing what you really enjoy and bow hunting. On the other hand, I have no idea where to tell you to go but Ohio and Illinois are the first to come to mind. I believe this executive decision of you hunting instead will pay off. Faith. Goodluck

I must've grown up in the wrong part of Louisiana. The closest my parents came to giving me a senior trip was when they helped me pack to go to Fort Benning, GA two weeks after graduation.

If you can afford it, absolutley a guided hunt! Why not my young friend, go after a giant, we only go around this lifetime once! You`ll remember it till its your turn to say goodbye!! Let us know what you decide, Glenn.

For a trip like that, I think I'd consider it as a parent. I'd much rather a safe and rewarding trip versus an underage waiting to happen trip. May be able to find a cheap airline ticket since it's still a bit away.

    Best of luck.
