been like that for years around here. this would be around may. it wouldnt be the same time..maybe i can go on the trip, then have enough money left over for tags and a diy hunt. i just wouldnt know how to apply to these public lands.
Well at least a young man in todays day and age with his head on his shoulder!!! My friend, you are making the right choice, been there, done that and some!! Research where you want to hunt(Iowa would seem smart to me) and enjoy yourself to the utmost. Best of luck in your search, let us know where you decide to hunt! GOD BLESS.
Asking questions on forums doesn't cost a penny. There are some guys on here that are really good with topo and aerial maps. Plenty of hunting blogs on the internet to help you out as well.
Props to you man. I worked every day, every year during spring break and just had a fire, couple beers and a good time with the boys after dark and wouldn't take it back if I could. Keep on keepin on and doing what you really enjoy and bow hunting. On the other hand, I have no idea where to tell you to go but Ohio and Illinois are the first to come to mind. I believe this executive decision of you hunting instead will pay off. Faith. Goodluck
I'm a senior in high school right now also in Louisiana now I'm undecided because I'm going to Bahamas with my friends on a cruise that I have to pay for now the graduation present my father said he would pay for is a guided trip I've narrowed it down too 3 states that fit our price range and were I think I would have the best opportunity is Iowa Missouri and Kentucky
I have a lot of ground in north mo , would be glad to put you out on my place free of charge for 7days place to stay and all meals, stands up ready to hunt so you can fly in or drive,we have a big home so you will have your own room and pick of any spot on many farms. You could even hunt this fall if you would like. Pm me for any info that you need
I must've grown up in the wrong part of Louisiana. The closest my parents came to giving me a senior trip was when they helped me pack to go to Fort Benning, GA two weeks after graduation.
If you can afford it, absolutley a guided hunt! Why not my young friend, go after a giant, we only go around this lifetime once! You`ll remember it till its your turn to say goodbye!! Let us know what you decide, Glenn.
yes, i said the same thing. completely jaw dropping. in the process of trying to convince my parents to let me take such a long trip.
For a trip like that, I think I'd consider it as a parent. I'd much rather a safe and rewarding trip versus an underage waiting to happen trip. May be able to find a cheap airline ticket since it's still a bit away. Best of luck.
