There are severel companies making these types of cameras, and more coming out every year. I want to be a player in this game but I don't think the technology is quite there yet. Either the picture quality is not very good or the coverage area is not adequate. On other systems the cost is prohibitive. I'm very anxious to see where this technology goes in the next few years as I believe this will be the next big step with trailcams.

    Blessings.......Pastorjim

Shawnuk, I myself have just recently started to research these types of cameras. My primary interest in these cameras is from a theft stand point. Hunting gear is expensive and I am sick and tired of my hard work and investments being stolen. On another note getting instant feed back from your camera would greatly increase your odds. So far with all the research I have done my $ is with moultrie so far. I own 3 cameras produced by moultrie a D50, D55IR and D55 which I have yet to use. I have read a lot of reviews on moultrie and it seems like they have their proz and cons but for me they have function well without any problems. Aside from that they don't break the bank. However these cameras aren't compatible with their wireless module. On another note through my research i discovered several other cameras that function by sending pics wirelessly to cellphone or website and they are smartscouter, eyetrax, spypoint and buckeye cam. Although i think you'll find if your a seriouse hunter but huntn on a budget that these cameras and their packages are expensive. Some of these things are only realistic for guides, outfitters or stricktly wealthy people IMO. I was looking at buckeye cams and they actually had a camera that retailed for 1,800 if im not mistaking. IS it just me or is that crazy??? Lots of toys for all ya men out there guess its just a matter of what works for ya'll.

yea... well i one wildgame innovations cam.. bout a new one that takes videos... but to my recent check on my cam.. i found out that the amish that recently moved in the area are "walking" into my area for hunting...standing in the middle of my plot and looking at my pipe feeder that i have attached to a tree.... nothing there but my stand... my plot and a empty feeder.. but still why would they be hugging and standing around my feeder unless they are taking my ideas... none the less they shouldnt be there.... i thought they stayed to themselves.. although my stuff is still there... did they not see my camera 15 ft from my feeder.... hope that they dont run off with my stand... here os a link to what im looking at.. wonder if i can hook it up to wifi

I have 3 of the cams you are looking at(WGI w6x)...that version is on sale right now at amazon for $50 - its amazon exclusive people been buying up and selling on ebay....They are a decent cam for the money - good day pics, good sensor and flash range, a little motion blur at night, video is a little jerky but not bad. I like these cams and I paid ave of 90$ last fall and they have been going nonstop since Oct...overall a very good scouting cam.
*they are not wifi or cell capable. I do know some people have been fooling around with modifications on some, but haven't seen anything with this cam...any mods will negate your warranty. Couple samples for you here.

I own one of the new w8x wgi and it works well, good video and fats trigger speed but i wish it came in camo and the need to have burst mode on these cams.overall a decent cam

I will say i have 5 of the x6c models and they have given years of years round service without even one failure again it needs burst mode because it is a little slow on trigger speed and recovery time is not that great but a good bait cam

I also have been waiting for this technology to check my trailcam on our property 3 hours away from our home without spending $75 in gas. Our land connects to public hunting and i am sure the cameras would get stolen. I was wondering how the infra-red cameras do at night. Is there still some sort of flash? The reason i ask this is I could set one higher up in a tree that would be harder to steal and if you cant se a flash, they are less likely to be seen. It would be a nice security system if I could place one along the drive and check it from my living room when there is 3 feet of snow up there.

pics I posted are from an IR cam(we call the basic ir flash 'the red blob' and they are visible though only if you are looking at it)...there are now a lot of low glow and black flash cams with some that are wireless capable in all IR versions...I recommend you all look at ChasinGame.com reviews and also the forum - search MMS cameras or wifi cams etc on the forum and you will hear all about the current issues/pros and cons for the different brands and flash types as well.
