Working out of town in San Antonio this weekend and got off early for work this afternoon. So I went to bass pro shops to kill time. Stayed for a couple hours, picked items up, put items back, picked up more items finally walking away not purchasing anything haha. That. Was. hard. I know there's gotta be some ppl who can relate lol.
I get a Cabelas gift card every year, there have been a few visits where I walked thru and could not find a thing to buy.
It is tough. I find myself just making a list and getting only what I came for. Those "browsing only" trips usually turn out to be the most expensive...
I have to walk in with cash, a specific list, and leave my debit cards at home. If I do not, I would be broke.
First world problem....can't stop myself from spending money......Merica! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
I've filled up two carts at cabelas and got so nervous I just ran out of the store. I feel horrible for the employees who had to deal with that mess haha! I had the money to spend but just started thinking about how much more responsibly I could spend it. Growing up sucks sometimes Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Haha that's awesome. I'm closing on a house next month And I gotta remind myself just wait until it gets closer to the season to buy stuff. House > hunting stuff I suppose.
Self Discipline? What in the world is that? Never heard of it!! From you guys are saying apparently I don't have any!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The Gander Mountain is having it's going out of business deals right now. This past Saturday I spent a whole hour walking around and didn't purchase anything. I was very disappointed and it's no surprise to me that they are having business troubles.
I bought a rinehart 18-1 target and a new rifle sling from mine, but your right, for the most part its just barebones stuff or gimmicks. They do have some pretty good optics left in my store though, I'm waiting for the prices on rangefinders to drop
The thing that bothers me is that all of their stuff is 20 percent over what you can get anywhere else, yet they somehow think it's a deal taking 20 percent off. SMH. sent from my mini hand held phone
I know! I'm in process of selling my house now. Then we are going to build new house. So I know I'm about to get nickled and dimed to death. Also trying to get all vehicles paid off by years end. I've been putting off buying a 2072 SeaArk. Pretty tough right? But wait, it gets better.... The wife even gave me the green light nod of approval on the boat purchase. So I am the only one holding myself back. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I just paid off my credit card and not buying a new bow is killing me. Instead I'm going the responsible route and saving money for a layaway down payment. I just want my new bow now; I feel like all my patience goes toward my 2yr old and waiting in the stand.
Not spending money is easy for me as I prefer seeing my bank accounts grow versus filling my house with crap I don't need. I've been shooting the same bow for 14 years with no immediate plans to replace it.
Been there and done that. I try not to go in a Sporting Goods store unless I know I need something specific. It can get really spendy!
