Joe Horn was no-billed by the Grand Jury... he did not commit a crime per Texas Law.

Property may not be worth a human life.... but that lesson should first be learned by the criminals.

Yeah-looks like old Joe was within Texas law (from what I read)

Guess it was good for him he was in Texas.

I still say he was just itching to "defend" himself. Guess I should say his nieghbors property.

I do wonder just what the texas right to defend property law covers.?
Your property? Nieghbors proprty? Someones property you dont know but just happen to think something is going on? State property?

Once again Im not defending the burglers actions-from what I read they were scumbags.

WE obviously don't know what went down when ol Joe stepped outside. The background noise suggested to me that he didn't give the burgs the chance to drop the stuff and leave, I think that's how I would have likely played it. (Who knows, no one, including me, really knows how they would act)

That is an excellent example, thank you Bruce. That is one of the reasons I posted this, to learn. I was, and still am having a hard time trying to reconcile what exactly happened based on a bunch of factors. My principals and basic thoughts of being protected in my home and protecting the homes of loved ones was put to the test while listening to that 911 call. Thanks guys for the dialogue.

The main issue I have is when people think that the "good guys" have to justify force. Has anyone here ever been in a terribly fast paced fight or life or death situation? As you know, your mind is racing a million miles an hour while the criminal or whatever is already ahead of you because they know what they are doing, they are committed to being evil. Now the law expects us to "slow down" and justify everything. Screw that.
