5 days ago i had my first encounter with a nice 6 point.he came in from behind me and did a big circle, walked right towards me until about 15 yards and turned broadside.he made a few more steps and stopped i put the pin on him and let her fly!!!Let me say this was my first time seeing a buck that close let alone shooting at one.shot went right in front of his chest,i was bummed to say the least but i did learn a good lesson.went up and shot my bow and i was shooting about 12 inches to the left must have bumped my sight.
Ya, sometime that can happen. One time I went to go shoot target practice and my 20 yrd pin was broken. I don't know how it happen but was able to fix it later and get ready for an actual hunt.
Damn that sucks..... I take a black sharpe and mark my pins, sight and peep so if something happens I can get them back where they were. Read that in a bow hunting article and took it to heart and its been a big help, bumped my peep onetime and had it back in seconds.
I dothe same thing with a white outt pin for my sight and my rest as well I've had them both come loose and get bumped around
Better to completely miss than make a poor shot & risk losing the animal. IMHO. Get back out there & get another crack @ him!
Happened to me to. Bought new arrow and it just started shooting right i figured i bought the wrong arrows with the spine and stuff took it to the proshop guy looks at it moved my sight and now i am back on.
That stinks but finding them and getting them under your stand is a challenge in it's self. Good job!
