It's amazing how different norms are between countries. I spend a month in England when I was 17. Wow, was that an eye opener. I'll be honest, most Americans couldn't hold a candle to the British when it comes to drinking. It is much more a way of life for them, and socially acceptable. I can't remember the legal drinking age, but I'm thinking it is 14 as long as they are with a parent, and 16 or 18 without. One of the biggest difference I saw was how they drank. They would drink all day long, but they wouldn't get slobbering drunk because they know how to handle it. They didn't drink to get drunk, like I see so many in the US do, they just drank socially and paced themselves. Again, it's a difference in norms.

I'm not a drinker and never will be. I don't condone drinking and driving, drinking and hunting, or drinking to get drunk. That's just the way I choose to live my life, and I'll be honest, I do look down on people who do those type of things because they can have dire consequences for themselves or others, and for what? To be drunk??????

I was Hunting a Property line last night, and saw the biggest buck of my life and I had to put down my beer so that I could get a shot at him running across the field at 90 yards using my spotlight, it was a real clear shot but it was the last day for the season, and I was already limited out for the day but man was he a nice buck. Oh course I gut shot him so I jumped in the truck to run him down in the middle of the field. Even though I was trespassing it was a good night.

Like your posts PT but sometimes I'm like whoa! One beer will not impair and average adult male unless maybet it's a 22 oz or 40oz or some freakishly high alcohol content brew. And if you have even 2 or 3 in a a few hours it will barely move your bac. Ignorance to the effects of alcohol on the body is rampant on this site, while I don't think it's the best idea I am at least aware of alcohols effect. "I hope you fall out of your treestand"...really?

Sometimes I like a good spicy bloody mary in the morning, not 3 or 4 or anything just 1 or 2 sometimes. They are delicious!

Now I said instead of hurting or killing someone else ... so it was meant as an alternative ... not that I want someone to fall out of a tree ... but if there was an either or, I stand by my statement. I am not against drinking .... there is a time and place for everything ... a tree stand is not it .... btw, I like your posts too ;)

I'm more worried about walking through the woods in the dark to find my tree stand and climbing it at 5am, after a 4 hour drive to my lease on no sleep:(
By the time morning comes I need a beer:)

My advise to you is DRIVE ON, not everyone is ALWAYS going to like what you say or the way you think. You will find it very rewarding to have others opinions in some cases and in others maybe not, oh well all these jerks don't know you. Take the good advise and leave the bs. Oh some good advise- do not drink and hunt.:tu:

Sometimes the bashing it warranted, some times its not.
    It's the internet, who cares?

Generally I'm not one to sugar coat my thoughts because I don't buy into the whole "group hug, its ok try better next time crowd". If someone screwed up, tell them they screwed up. And if they knowingly chose to do something dumb, why not bash them, so they get the point that what they did was dumb?
