I was hoping to bump ideas across bow hunters from abroad. Instead my first post got bashed because i mentioned beer. Then today new to the sport guys posted mistakes and once again bashing. For all who dont do that sorry, for those that do you are bad for message boards. Let each hunter have their own take. Peace out

brother trust me, dont take anything to heart. look past the bs. there are people on here that act like a bunch of puffed up tom turkeys strutting around showing how smart they are. well if you turkey hunt you know what happens to those toms.... well i would like to personally welcome you. this is a great site and you will learn a lot and maybe even teach someone else something. :)

There are a bunch of great people on here. If you are in the Northern area of Illinois or able to travel there you should come to the next Get Together in June. You will see what we are all about and see how great people are that are involved with this site. It is a 3-D shoot and we camp out for the weekend. Great times! Welcome and dont leave due to a few posts.

Red, don't worry 'bout it. Its like bringing up the subject of beer or wine on a US Naval vessel. It'll get you a lot of bad looks and maybe chastising from a commissioned officer. However, some of the best meals I had way back in the Navy were aboard British and French ships where they serve the booze like milk!

We're all responsible for our own actions. If the guy wants to drink a beer while he hunts than that is on him. I'm sure he knows the potential outcomes.

    Negative ghost rider.

Not only is it ILLEGAL and DANGEROUS.

But It paints a terrible image of our sport.

I prefer not to associate with such individuals.

Simon, he says he's overseas. I know in Germany back in the 80's, before we went with the locals on a boar hunt, they had several quite large beers. Not all countries have the laws we have, and what might be totally acceptable in our country can be a taboo there and visa versa.

First off, for the one millionth time, its SIMAN. Cant any of you guys read?

    And secondly,

    I dont see your point?

Im all for drinking, ask any of the G2G guys, i can make quite a fool of myself with the brew.

But would i go hunting while drinking? Negative. You have to be able to sort out right from wrong here. "Taboo" cuz everyone else overseas is doing it is no excuse IMO. If he doesnt like it, maybe he shouldnt be a member of a American bowhunting forums where typical American ethics and regulations are the norm. Find a overseas "drinking while hunting" forum, im sure they have one.

And like i said, this is only my opinion.

It's a public forum man. Everyone has an opinion, some may not agree with yours or you may not agree with there's. Stick around give it some time there are some great guys on here that will go out of there way to help you.

With that being said, what did you expect to happen when you posted a thread about drinking beer while in the stand? Did you think it was a bow hunting norm? Gotta get some thicker skin if that's the kinda threads you plan on starting.

Dear Reddrops, some people just don't like what others do. It’s illegal to smoke pot, but I bet many of the people that contribute to this forum have or do smoke it. It's also illegal to piss on the side of the road; however, I’ve done it many times and will continue to. Don't let some of the members discourage you from starting any new threads, just think about the outcome a little more. Imagine that you’re in church and what you are about to post; would it be acceptable to talk about in church? My meaning is People, by nature, are easily offended by the actions of others. Some people ignore it and others speak up. It’s up to you to choose to ignore the negative comments.

I grew up in IL and as far as I can remember nearly everyone had a few after the hunt. I’ve brought a beer with me before, to celebrate the kill, after I shot one of course. I wouldn’t open it during because I don’t want to pee while in my stand, and I’m there to hunt not drink. But I’ve shot deer and enjoyed my beer afterwards while waiting for the others (hunters) to finish their hunt. If no one likes it well I don’t give a crap, because its the best beer EVER. I do however, drink plenty while fishing. Those two go hand in hand, and not very many people would disagree with this, unless they are wear pink undies.

    Things to remember
    Don’t start threads that include the following;
    1. Drinking while hunting.
    2. Shooting at deer while they are running.
    3. Hunting on a property line.
    4. Look what I found while trespassing.
    5. Shot over my limit today.
    6. I hit this deer with my truck in the middle of the field.
    7. What type of spot light to you recommend for shooting deer at night?
    8. Siman08/OH can I have your advice?:tu:
    9. I shot at this deer at 85 yards.
    10. I didn’t have a very clear shot, but it was the last day…

Just keep this in mind and welcome to the site.
