Tonight in the stand I really began to ask myself if I will ever take a big, mature Va buck with a bow...shotgun I have taken two big mature bucks, but I have no desire or drive to take them that way anymore..I mean if Im gun hunting and ones comes by, sure I will shoot him, but I do not "hunt" for them anymore that way. I just really have this desire to find ands hunt a big mature Va buck...and I realize that I need to pass on the 100-115" bucks that I tend to shoot...but beyond that, I never see the studs that are in my woods..how do I know they are there? they get killed every year by shotgun by someone...But I wonder if i will ever gain the understanding of their behavior that i need to kill them..we say it's not rocket science...but damn I find it extremely hard to just see them. let alone put an arrow in one..some say that the big buck craze is over rated....maybe, but for me, it's a goal that I take a true Va giant...it just stings b/c they are here and live on my lands and I see guys that hunt the same property kill em and i just don't get it...do I really suck that bad?
