Personally I think it'll be Strong or Golden. For the longest I thought it would be Strong, but Louisville's move to the ACC may keep him there. I'd be surprised though if a coach isn't hired by the end of the week.

That's what I was thinking about Strong. I think he ultimately wants to coach in the SEC, but he's building something nice at Lville, and an imminent move to the ACC could keep him there.

I like Charlie Strong a lot. It would pain me to see him go to Knoxville.

From the UT message boards I go to, he seems to have the most support.

What about Bo Pelini? He is all the rage <--- You see what I did there?

Yes I see what you did there. I just got done reading an update on the search and it seems the top 2 are Gundy and Strong. Pelini was mentioned in the artical and so was Fedora but they seem to be 2nd tier candidates. I prefer Strong and still think he ends up in Knoxville. Strong had some awkward moments in his Sugar Bowl press conference when pressed about other coaching jobs. Made me think he is at least listening. Most of the beat guys still think this will be wrapped up by the weekend.

Why didn't UT go after Kirby Smart?

The AD said he wanted someone with head coaching experience. I also think after hiring Sunseri last year from Bama to be the DC and that blowing up, the fan base would probably revolt if another Bama guy is hired.

Who cares about these sec teams, their payrolls are not as big as bama, Florida, Georgia, lsu or AU.

Several reports that smart interviewed for the barner job...I have heard everything from saban encouraged it for experience to a 3mil a year offer is out there. Saban pledging complete silence until it is over sure isn't helping as far as the rumor mill is concerned.

Do I need to go back and find my post? I never said it was a done deal. I said they were talking and he was a possibility I believe I have been consistent in saying that I hoped it was Gruden but would believe it when I saw it.

I know you never said it, but I've heard from many, many UT fans that it was a "done deal", or they were 100% confident that he would be their coach.

Ok I thought you were directing that at me, being I'm the lone UT fan in here commenting.

Arkansas needed someone to create excitement in the university for recruiting purposes. Bielema is not that coach.

They should have hired Art Briles.

On the bright side, I have no reason to hate Wis anymore. There is just something about his face..

And did this guy not complain about Meyer's recruiting tactics when he first came to OSU? And now he wants to join the rest of the SEC? LOL

Wait till he gets in a battle with Saban over a recruit.

He sees the writing on the wall, OSU and Michigan are recruiting well. He has zero talent coming.
