Alright- all this talk of the creamsicles and Kiffin with the occasional tidbit from the Big 12 officially has this thread hijacked.

Let's talk about the two best teams in college football, please!

I am always late ot the game, even in my own thread. Kiffin coaches the sworn enemy, but if I were to bleed orange i would be very excited. His dad is a HUGE attribute and he better be cocky if he wants to thrive down south...as young as he is and with such a short resume...he has to sit on the same couch as Saban, Meyer, Spurrier, Richt, ETC...and then he has to convince them why they shoudl come and play in Knoxville instead of somewhere else. Lsss than 3 days and we will have an answer. Do not forget the pac 10 champ will be decided tomorrow...The Cival War

Now you and GA are just trying to ruffle my feathers!:p

I'll admit though, I'm a TCU fan. Not too big on Boise and Cincy though.

I say get them in a big boy conference and let them play that schedule. It is a given that if we put lower level teams at the top each year someone will eventually pull one out...see NCAA basketball every year. They need to play teams week in and week out that can beat them and not teams that may challenge them for a half. There is also the fact of getting beat up week in and week out, would you rather hit Florida's o-line for 60 minutes and then have to go play UT and do it again, or go against Nevada and turn around and play bowling green. That adds up as well.

Good for Florida for suspending Dunlap. Probably not the easiest decision with what is on the line, .... classy move.

Well put. Boise, Cincy, TCU and last year's Utah teams are all good teams. It's not like we are saying that are just completely inept. But if enough of those non BCS powers play perennial title contenders, they are going to win some. But like you said, battle LSU to the wire one week, then prepare, plan and saddle up for Alabama the next week. It's just not the same.

many years ago, if i remember correctly, Paterno played a particularly rough game against Bama while Bear Bryant was the coach... paterno talked with bear afterward and paterno said "Coach, that's the roughest game we've played all season", bear replied "try playing games like that every week when you're in the SEC"

that's one thing a lot of people over look about SEC teams, in any given week, 3/4's of the teams are capable of beating any other team in the SEC regardless of records... in fact, it is RARE that a team comes out of the SEC without a loss on their record... they spend the whole season beating up on each other... big 10 produces some fine teams for sure, but without doubt, top to bottom, no other conference compares to the SEC in terms of overall strength... just my opinion of course... :D

Non-BCS schools are 3-1 in BCS bowl games.

And Utah completed DOMINATED every facet of the game last year against Bama. I know, I know, Bama didn't want to be there, blah, blah, blah, whatever.

I also don't think that the SEC was that tough this year. I think the PAC-10 was the strongest conference this year.

Good jab hooker, and I am right there with you on thinking it is crap to say they did not want to be there. We came out, thought it was a cakewalk and we were the best or second best team out there. They came out hungry and stomped bama. There is too much parity (and that is not bad) in college now. A guy can go anywhere and as long as he has the tools or shows out at the combine he will play on sundays. You do not have to go big time to get there anymore, but the fact still remains the major schools are much deeper with talens and bigger, faster and stronger across the board. The big ten could use another team to get to 12 and have a conference champ game...Notre Dame has ducked it for years, maybe one of these other schools should try to get in.

This is gonna be a HELL of a matchup, but Florida will run them over.

I think Texas will pull off in a very close game of the Title game over Florida.

I'm not a fan of any of them. :D

I'm excited for this game too. Nebraska is a very, very good team. If they can stahl Texas' offesnse early then they have a good shot of winning this game.

    Tomorrow is the day!

Im not sure the PAC 10 is the best confrence this year. Their good but not SEC good. Only 2 SEC teams have loosing records and not going to bowl games. USC turned out to be so so, Oregon, Oregon ST are good but have little defence. Stanford comes up in big games, Cal was OK, AZ ST, AZ same as they have been in the past. Ill put my money on a SEC team every time. Did you see SC destroy Clemson and they were ranked 17 and SC was unranked. To each his own but I think in a head to head SEC wins 8 out of 10.

The ACC is not the PAC-10 this year.

I'd put Bama and Florida over anything the PAC-10 has to offer, but the PAC-10, from top to bottom (as SEC folks love to say), was better than the SEC this year.

Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Auburn were all very average teams this year.

Less that 24 hours and this game will be over. I have decided that if it is not raining, I will sit in a tree and hunt while my wife texts me the updates. What the hell is going on with a 4:30 start time, and the ACC game getting prime time. Alot of the guys I work with will miss it because of high school and middle school events with the kids. Obviously their kids come before this, but that still does not mean they want to miss the game.
