Thanks guys, Phillip, I know Urban's hands were tied, but do you think Lane's comments about not suspending players for half's had any role in it. It is getting close boys, and the anxiety is starting to guild. Alot of Bama fans heading down I-20 right now and they will get it it started today and hopefully celebrate all the way through sunday.

You may be right. Have you heard Kiffin's latest comment? He was asked about the game and said Florida had better players and Alabama had better coaches. Sounds like another swipe at Urban to me.

    Lane Kiffin is a joke.

He may have the program headed in the right direction but he is completely unproven and if it weren't for his father's defense the Vols wouldn't have been as "good" as they were this year.

For some reason he has a huge chip on his shoulder in the form of Urban Meyer and Florida. Maybe next year he'll try to get that chip off by playing to win against the Gators rather than playing not to lose.

 Personally I think it is way to soon to be calling him a joke or success for that matter. Sure the D was good because of his dad and that won UT some games, but Monte had nothing to do with the improvement of the offense.

In 2008 UT ranked 115th in Total offense (link) and then in 2009 they ranked 48th (link)

    Just sayin' ;)

[Michael sorry your thread has been highjacked. :D]

He could go undefeated next year and win the national championship and he'd still be a joke in my book based on how he he handles himself.

One thing is for sure though, he takes passive aggressiveness to a whole new level! :D I'd respect the man if he would come out and say what he's thinking rather than beatin' around the bush and throwing in comments here and there like he's a JV girls volleyball player or something.

You don't consider all of his antics and crap talking (before the season even started) a joke?

What about big Oregon showing up at recruits homes drunk? Or the constant slandering of other universities?

Are their news articles about Coach O or the "constant slandering"? Or did you hear that from a guy who heard it from a guy on a message board? Because if you have articles I'd love to read them, because I've not heard of this. [EDIT: Let me rephrase. I've not heard of this outside of a rumor mill/message board setting.]

As for his trash talking before the season started no I don't consider it a joke. Spurrier has done it for years and it worked for him. It is a little much for my taste but I don't mind some trash talking out of a coach. Especially if it fires up his players.

Yes, their are articles, but since I did not renew my Rivals.com account, I cannot find the articles anymore.

But 2009 WR Marlon Brown from Memphis, TN was quoted saying that Oregon showed up to his Grandma's house with liquor on his breath and constantly slandered every other SEC school in attempts to get him to sign with TN. He was so off put by it, he signed with Georgia, even though he wanted to sign with TN.

Kiffen also told 2009 WR Ashlon Jeffrey that he would be pumping gas after college if he honored his commitment to South Carolina.

And I'm not even going to get into the entire ordeal with Janzen Jackson and Richardson.

There is a reason why Richardson's HS will no longer let TN recruit that HS.

How many recruiting violations has TN been hit with this year so far? It seems like every week I'm reading about some time of violation.

He was so off put by it, he signed with Georgia, even though he wanted to sign with TN. Like I said something outside of rumor mill.

Kiffen also told 2009 WR Ashlon Jeffrey that he would be pumping gas after college if he honored his commitment to South Carolina. Kiffin denies this statement.

And I'm not even going to get into the entire ordeal with Janzen Jackson and Richardson. Again the Knox DA and Knox PD said Janzen was not involved, and Richardson was kicked-off the team. While Janzen was not allowed at team activities during the time his stuff was up in the air.

There is a reason why Richardson's HS will no longer let TN recruit that HS. They have reversed this position. Sort of...

How many recruiting violations has TN been hit with this year so far? It seems like every week I'm reading about some time of violation. UT has had some (6 I believe) secondary violations, which happens at every school. Given long enough you could find articles on any school for this.

--It boils down to you guys don't like UT and that's fine people can have their opinions. Personally I love UT and always will and will support whoever is on the coaching staff while they are there.

I really wasn't talking about the robbery, I was talking about their shady recruitment. Mainly how Janzen purposely screwed over LSU.

Not really. I just really don't like Kiffin and Oregon. I have no other disdain for UT.
