Been a tough season as I said previously. I went 8 sits without seeing a single deer. Had only seen 5 deer all season and none in range. Yesterday was hot, 82 degrees, full moon and things were bleak. I had a shooter buck show up on camera in shooting light yesterday morning while I was in another stand. Never saw a deer yesterday morning and I was defeated. Went back out in the afternoon with little hope. Deer were showing up on yet another camera elsewhere and I was just defeated. Lo and behold at 6:15 a shooter walks out of the swamp and right to me at 15 yds. I shot him a bit high but got a clean pass through and he ran about 180 yds and crashed right in front of my son. My son watch from about 50 yds out as the deer thrashed around for several minutes trying to survive but he ultimately expired as my son watched. The dead meat broadhead did its job and destroyed one lung completely. Nicked the other lung. This is my first buck with a bow since 2012. Never give up. The lord is good!
There you go! You put in the time and got your self a great buck! But don't stop now, plenty of tags to fill. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Perserverance and persistence pays off!! Congrats on a great buck!!! Draughts in hunting help make us much more appreciative of time when we are able to harvest.
Thanks to all. It’s hard not lose faith in times of disappointment but even when I didn’t want to keep going my son was there and he doesn’t understand quit at 18 yrs old this deer weigh 184 lbs on the hoof, very big deer for southeast VA
